Ben Hunt-Davis, (Performance
Coach)
Ben Hunt-Davis inspires all who meet him with his real-life experiences
of becoming one of the world’s top rowers.
Ben became involved in rowing at school, and while studying Civil
Engineering at Oxford Polytechnic, he came second in the World
Under 23 Rowing Championships.
A few months
later, he was selected to compete in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics as
the youngest member of the British Rowing Team. He has been in the
British team ever since and has now competed in three World
Championships and three Olympic Games.
At the Sydney
Olympics in 2000, Ben’s team, the Men’s 8, won
the Gold in the Blue Ribband rowing event and became the first
British team to do so since 1912. They were each awarded an
MBE.
While
training for competitions, Ben also gained valuable experience
training Oxford University’s Women’s Rowing Clubs teams
for six years. Ben brings to his coaching an invaluable insight into
what it takes to perform at the top of your game, how to take a pro-active
approach to setbacks, and how to motivate yourself to achieve
your goals and help your team achieve theirs.
