McGarry defends his star striker

Manager Bill McGarry today dismissed suggestions that recent performances indicate Wolves are a better team away from Molineux.
Said the Wolves' boss: "It is results that count and I know we have achieved them in our recent away games. People then work it out we are playing better away from home, but this is a bit of a myth.
"Recently, we have not got results at Molineux though we have played well enough to win.
"This was the case against Southampton on Saturday when we were certainly the better team, but could not score.
"Against both Derby and Arsenal we also did well enough to get a result while I think the only home game in which we did play really badly was when Leeds were at Molineux."
He added: "The biggest disappointment in the Southampton match, to me anyway, was conceding a goal so late in the game."
McGarry also defended his striker John richards who might have scored a hat-trick in the Southampton game.
"I certainly would not swop Richards for Mike Channon, scorer of the Saints' goal, and it is not fair to throw the blame on him for the defeat.
"Richards is as brave as a lion in the penalty area. He may miss chances but he is always looking for goals and is there to miss them.
"Many of his opportunities come because he has the skill to make them out of nothing.
"I only wish I had a couple more players with his skill and bravery in the box, then we would get more goals."
Wolves have decided to appeal to the independent tribunal over the two-match suspension of striker Steve Kindon.
Kindon, in London last Tuesday, failed in an appeal against his fourth booking of the season and was automatically suspended for two games.
Vital TV evidence failed to arrive at the hearing and, because of this, Wolves have decided to take the matter a stage further.
Kindon, who will be available for the third round FA Cup-tie with Manchester United at Molineux on Saturday, is only the third player to take an appeal to the tribunal.
