Cannock's largest used car traders have submitted plans fora £2 million expansion which could create around 100 jobs.
Car Supermarkets, formerly The Motorhouse, wants to build a new servicing and storage facility on a six-acre site in Bridgtown.
It also plans to extend facilities at its existing site off the A5 at Longford.
The plan there involves conversion of the servicing bay to provide a cafeteria, creche and accessories shop.
In addition, the space now used to store vehicles will increase customer parking.
The proposals for Bridgtown, on land at the Wyrley Brook business park, off Walkmill Lane, involve new workshops, paint spray booths, valeting facilities, offices and storage space for vehicles prior to sale.
There will also be staff and customer parking, plus space for transporter lorries to unload their cars.
The servicing plan has been welcomed by residents near the existing site who had complained about the delivery of cars early in the morning.
Staff likely to be taken on will include computer operators, car cleaners, administration workers and possibly security staff.
A company spokesman said the development had been designed to enhance its service.
The plans are likely to be considered by councillors within the next few weeks and if approved construction work would begin shortly afterwards.
