Around 150 people took the chance to have their say about a £400,000 scheme to create a traffic island at a busy Penkridge junction when plans were put on display.
The consultation period on the plans for the junction of the A449 Wolverhampton Road, Bungham Lane and Boscomoor Lane has now closed.
The Government's Highways Agency is behind the scheme, which was put on public display at the Haling Dene Community Centre last month.
A spokesman for the agency said one of the responses had been from an objector and a further four had been from people calling for traffic lights instead.
All the responses as well as views of local authorities will now be considered over the next two months before a decision is made, he said.
A letter announcing whether the island is the chosen option will be sent to everyone who responded.
Penkridge parish councillors and villagers have been demanding traffic-calming measures at the junction for many years.
Rachel Holmes, of Bungham Lane, has been one of the leading campaigners for improvements since her daughter Emma was injured.
