Possible plea over late-night buses

Originally published: Monday, October 16, 1939

Public feeling over the system of running late buses from Wolverhampton to the districts was growing, but the order remains.

We learn, however, that there would be an extension to the late bus service if the streets in the town were lighted better.

Local cinema and theatre managers are watching the situation and it is possible that a deputation will be formed to approach the transport authorities.

A suggestion that would prove of immense help to people who use the buses after dark is that the destination of the vehicles be illuminated with a dull blue light which can be switched on at the various stops and switched off again immediately the bus is moving.

At the moment it is extrememly difficult for people to find the bus they want when the conductor is not on the platform to give the name of the destination.
